Erskine produces a wide range of rugged AC and DC power systems for use in the industrial market sector to supply secure continuous power to critical loads. The established range of AC and DC UPS industrial products are generally custom designed to provide a rugged, reliable and efficient secure power solution for critical loads to prevent expensive outages. These types of secure power systems are widely used in the harsh operating environments encountered in the power generation and distribution, rail, oil and gas, industrial instrumentation and onshore or offshore petro-chemical applications.
Masseera offers a range of standard Erskine DC secure power systems based around battery charger products and batteries. The DC secure power solution can be customized to meet the most demanding of client requirements. Erskine is renowned for their technical expertise and manufacturing capability to provide the optimum solution. These types of systems are widely used in the power generation and distribution, oil and gas, industrial and onshore or offshore petro-chemical applications.
The AC to DC power conversion element of the system is typically configured from Thyristor or switch mode technology dependant on performance and size constraints. The range of Thyristor based systems offer highly rugged industrial systems suitable for the most demanding of environmental and operating conditions. The DCV, CV and 6CV range of single phase and three phase input charger products capable of operating on 24V to 220V DC nominal systems with output currents up to 1250A.
The range of switch-mode based systems offer more compact power systems with the inherent benefit of multiple rectifiers providing redundancy. The ESR range of rectifier modules can be configured into systems capable of operating from 24V to 220V DC nominal with power ratings up to 150kW.
To meet dedicated client requirements and specifications the DC secure system is custom designed and configured. Custom designed systems can be configured from numerous options available.
Energy storage in the system can be provided from all types of stationary batteries including:
Valve regulated lead acid (VRLA),
Flooded nickel cadmium (NiCd),
Gas recombination low maintenance NiCd.
Batteries can be sized to provide short to long autonomy times and can be provided with stands or enclosures to suit the individual customer specification and requirements.
The Industrial UPS is configured from four main elements: Battery charger, Inverter, Static bypass and Maintenance bypass. The battery charger converts the AC mains supply into a regulated DC bus from which the battery is charged and inverter is powered. The pulse width modulated IGBT based inverter generates a regulated sinusoidal AC output from the DC bus. A transformer in the inverter output provides galvanic isolation between the UPS output and battery.
The UPS output is controlled by an electronic static switch that selects the inverter output or bypass supply, the normal mode of operation is for inverter output to supply the load. Under fault or overload conditions the static switch will transfer to the bypass supply to provide fault protection device clearance.
A maintenance bypass provides capability to isolate the static elements of the UPS and supply the load from the bypass supply during UPS maintenance.

AC Inverter System:
Masseera offer a range of standard Erskine AC Inverter systems that provide a high quality source of AC power.
The product range is based on transistorized PWM inverters with fully rated static switches and a wide range of configuration options. The AC inverter solution can be customized to meet the most demanding of client requirements.
